my ‘92 sequel II’s have been in storage for 5 years. i’m getting ready to hook everything back up. do you recommend bringing the ac voltage up slowly on the ML’s with a variac ? if so, any thing else i should know?

If you have a variac, I'd use it, but I don't think it's a a requirement. The electronics do not have high-capacity AC-powered caps.
Vacuum the panels well before you power them up for the first time. Inspect the void between the stators (both) and the diaphragm for bugs and/or other things that might have gotten in there.
