My Dad, another retired railroad buddy and myself took a little train ride down to Charlotte earlier this week to ride their new 'Light Rail' system, enjoy a little 'Southern Hospitality', and check out Charlotte since I haven't been there in twenty years.

Nice City and a nice new transit system !

My wife and I spent last week in Greensboro, visiting family on the outskirts of the city. Its amazing how big (fast) the area is growing up.
There are quite a few large scale (12" and larger) railroads in the Charlotte area; most are 'private' operations but I can make a few calls if you'd like to visit on your next trip down.

Tj, Came through Greensboro on our way to and from Charlotte, beauftifull train station.

As most know on this forum....... I'm a serious 'train nut', I attached a few pics, 7 1/2 " gauge @ "The Pa Live Steamers", Rohns,Pa and Bernard asked about my modeling, put a few in of my outdoor Garden Railroads.
