My purchase order for the Neoliths has been placed. Rosso Fuoco (Ferrari Red) was the color choice. These have been purchased through Mike Ware at "LMC Home Entertainment" in Scottsdale, AZ. Check out their website http://www.lmche.com/ and you will see some of our favorite brands. Mike knows his stuff when it comes to high end audio. The PO was placed today and I don't have an anticipated delivery date at this time. Mike seemed genuinely excited about his prospects at selling the Neoliths and he will be carrying a demo set (also on order).

As I have said "Kicks just keep getting harder to find". In this case $80K and I am Jazzed.

Sehr gut!!! From 3:50:)

What partnering kit will you be using? Any idea if you are the first customer?

You'll definitely have a blast with those. They are pretty damned good:)

Definitely not the first. They shipped the first pair to Shanghai, China and they were working on some orders from the Munich show earlier this month. I believe I'm the first order West of the Mississippi at least that's what Mike tells me. Let's just say I'm an early buyer but I won't be getting SN 00001.

As for the full set of gear:

Power Amp: I am currently using a pair of Bryston 28B-SST^2 and this will probably continue. The Bryston's Clip at 1325 watts and the power hungry Neoliths are rated up to 1300 watts. Mike has offered to bring a pair of McIntosh MC1.2kW's (he's also a dealer) for comparison. This will be a fun.

Pre-Pro: Meridian 861 v8 plus ID-41 with the Meridian HD621.
Berkeley Alpha DAC Reference.
Sources: Sooloos Control 15 server, Oppo 93, Oppo 105D, Music Hall MMF9 turntable.
Cables: Transparent Music Link Plus.

First off, congratulations on your purchase. I can imagine how excited you are. Second, wow! I can't wait to hear your assessment of the macs on this speaker. I have suspected that the 1.2kW would be a perfect match for the Neoliths.

Wow...I absolutely cannot wait to see pictures.

Gary, Congrats to you as well ! …….. As Rich said, looking forward to the 'amp shoot out' !!

I have heard the macs w all kinds of Logan's. guessing a smoother more laid back presentation than your Brystons w a hint of warm for the panels. Do let us know. And huge congrats.!! Tim

Always liked my Logans with tubes, so I'd like to hear them with these 900 Watt tube amps from Bob Carver. Heat output must be um... significant:D

6 days left on the ebay auction.

Red amps for red speakers. Obviously a great match. Buy 'em, try 'em, move them on quick if they don't work well. Doubt you'd lose much.

Just an idea.

Congratulations!

I'm sure we all are as exited as you are to get them and don't keep us waiting for your first impressions.
I'd just keep my current equipment to familiarize myself with the change in loudspeaker sound and wait to get know them well until making any other change if any.

Yep, Scientific Method - only change one variable at a time. Good advice!

Gary, awesome for you. Can't wait to hear your impressions. Do us all a favor and take lots of pictures including the unboxing and setup process.

Awesome stuff, creates a new problem for me to plan a trip to Vegas to listen to one of the best MCH/2ch systems

Oh yes the scientific method. I will certain apply as much science as I can until it starts to get in the way of fun. I am by education a Nuclear Chemist and Mathematician. I have, however, been suffering from Audiophilia Nervousa for 40 years. I have some good equipment that helps do better testing but as you know one of the symptoms of A.N. is sweet spot paralysis. When you're in the sweet spot, you cannot move. Of course I'll post some pics including uncrating it should be fun.

Tom killed by ebay link to Bob's amps... must have broken the rules:D

I had you down for some sort of casino/mafia member it being LV and all. Looking forward to the pics/words etc I'd come out for a listen with bonzo but I'm off to the eastern block soon. That blows this year's vacation money...:(

Hmmm. I have stories.

Back on subject I received an email from Mike Ware saying he would soon have an updated timeline on the Neolith's.

Not before I saw them. Wow. I thought they were the cherry 180s. Was I wrong. U have any idea what the 'volume control' is for on those beasts? Either something to match gain if you were ...uh.... Going to bi-amp?? Or just a limiter so u don't blow off the roof??

@ Justin: When I first talked to Mike Ware from LMC, he asked me if I was going to bi-amp the Neoliths. I assumed he meant passive bi-amp and I told him no as I am not much of a fan for passive bi-amping. On the other hand active bi-amping where you eliminate the internal crossovers and use and external ones, feeding your amp only the relevant frequency can have great results. When I saw those big Bob Carver beauties I said to myself "Maybe 900 watts of tube amp on the panels". I think I can make a better guess as to what will work after I've played with them a bit. I have not owned any tubes for some time but did recently give strong consideration to a pair of VTL's for my Sasha's.
