Metallica 45 RPM Box Set now Labelled "DO NOT PLAY"

This is what happens when you turn up the volume on Metallica a few notches too many.

Surprised to see the ribbon tweeters have literally "caramelized" from being driven too hard.

The local Australian distributor sorted me out with a replacement tweeter that took a few minutes to swap out so all is good again!

What amplifier and power level do you have? That thing looks quite crisp. I like my bacon that way!

It was a few hours after I looked at it closely. When it happened, I thought there may simply be some sort of thermal overload and the thing would come good. but it didn't.

Watt power are you using? A receiver? A stand alone amp? What is it rated per channel into 4 ohms? I'd hate to see you fry another one.

Currently using a Yamaha As-1100. The Amp is good, I just drove them way too hard
