hi all,

i am considering buying a stand alone cd player (now using my pioneer elite dvd player for cd's). i've been considering the jolida jd100 and the rotel rcd 1072. anyone have any experience with these units? would they be an improvement over my pioneer elite? which would be better?---of course i realize this subject is subjective....but anyway......
they will be powered by my musical fidelity a5 integrated amp into a pair of aeon i's.
thanks,
jack

I had a Rotel RCD 1072 and thought it was a great cd player for the small amount of money it cost. The only competition for cd player I heard was the Rega Apollo which costs more. You can find a Rotel on Audiogon for as low as $450.00 if you take your time. The Rotel is a great value and you can sell it for what it would cost if you buy used. I never heard the Joida before. If you are looking for a more analogue sounding cd player, I would look at the Prima luma or McIntosh MCD201 but these player cost considerably more. Some people have complained about the McIntosh MCD201 but I have had no problems and love it. The Rega Apollo may be more tube like than the Rotel but again, costs more cash.
