Hi, new to the club/forum, but I've owned my Ascents for 6+ yrs. I love 'em.

Last week the left speaker started sounding muffled. I swapped the left one to the right and vice versa, and the problem followed the speaker - not the channel on the amp, so I knew the speaker was the issue. So I called ML and they told me to take the panels off of the back of the speaker and swap the electronics board betwen the two speakers. Again, the problem stayed with the same speaker. So they then had me wash the electrostatic panel - yes! give it a shower - with the same result. Next they actually sent me a new electrostatic panel to replace the one on the bad speaker. The same problem remained with the same speaker! So that leaves only one other area that has not been checked and that is the 3 wire bundle connecting the electronic panel to the electrostatic panel. They are now sending me that bundle thinking that one of the connectors is corroded or otherwise bad, but I am very dubious as to the possibility that that will resolve my issue.

Has anyone out there had an issue like this?

My left panel just completely quit. ML said to swap the panels, then to swap the power supply. I think doing that will isolate the problem to either the power supply or the panel. I ended up finding that the fuse blew in the power supply and ended up sending the electronics to ML for repair.
