How about that Firebird Raceway in Phoenix !! Robert Hight's Nitro Funny Car made a 4.636 pass today in qualifing !!!!! The 'Sarge' tripped the timers in his Top Fueler @ 4.43, not to shabby either , 4th quickest of all time.

It trully is amazing, NHRA puts mandates on nitro/methane amounts(85%), timing restrictions on the motors and these tuners still manage to chase National records !!

Ahhhhhh, the need for speed !!!!

All this car talk....

I know what I want for when I graduate... a Porsche Cayman S in silver or white....

But I doubt my parents will buy me such a car. *Sigh*... to dream...

Joey :(

Fear not young Joey, you will be making the big Doctor bucks in time if we can keep Hillary's nose out of it all and then you can buy that and/or a 997 Twin Turbo! As well as a SMOKIN' Turntable and any speakers want!

Your time will come young one, be patient!

Build, Tune, Customize

My thoughts on cars have always been very much the same as my thoughts on audio, video, etc.... I don't want something everyone else has... Customizations has always been key. You are able to create a beautiful engaging piece of work that is a part of you. It has your special touch on it.

To be more specific, I love the sound of a well tuned turbo/supercharged engine...that whoosh of air and Darth Vader sound is almost too much for me...:D A beautiful Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, Mitsu Evo, Subaru WRX Sti, Mazda Rx7/Rx8, Z06, 69 Shelby Stang, I could go on and on....

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that like our hobby of audio, cars can be very much the same.... Start with something that is store bought and after many countless hours and more $$$ we are able to arrive at something thats now a work of art but specific to ourselves...custom audio, video, performance etc.... Gotta love it.

As I mentioned before, nothing like the rush one gets when two 7000Hp fuel cars leave the line !! But for the street , the sound of naturally aspirated Big Block power rules !!!

The current $70,000 car (2006/2007 year) you want will in five years be worth half that or $35,000.....................almost affordable.;)

In another five years $17,500................before it stablizes in price.

Any sports car over 20 years old typically goes up in value, but you will have to throw $2,000-$3,000 a year into it, or equal to a lower cost car payment/lease payment of $200 to $300 a month.

A few cars break these rules, some Jeeps, some work trucks, last of the air-cooled Porsches................and for the worse most luxury European imports due to the high cost of maintenance (ie BMW loses more than half value every five years).

Coollll... but I wanted to buy new or slightly used (1-2 years)....

My parents are cool though! They did mention last week when I went home that if things are right with the business, they might just help me get a Porsche Cayman S for graduation present instead of the G35 coupe.... so I'm pretty excited!!  :D

Just raising you and putting you through med school is not enough huh?! :D Wish I would have got ANY CAR for ANY THING from my parents... Bought them all myself, since they never had any money. Ok I DID borrow the '77 Honda Civic in UGLY Yellow a/ an AM radio and NO A/C for 1.5 years before I bought my '80 Spitfire... but technically that was NEVER MY car... The good thing is I am not bitter about it! LOL!!! Really, I never even knew anyone when I was growing up that had a car given to them...well, not that I knew about anyway.

My friend got a brand new BMW M3 just for getting into medical school! I have to get out ALIVE before I get mine.

BTW, I paid for my own schooling.... hehehehe...

If you paid for it yourself then they are probably so thankful that Cayman is looking CHEAP! Way to go my friend!

An M3 for getting INTO med school! Damn, must be nice...that would have been enough for me to take that jump too! JEEEZUS! It is BEYOND my imagination!
