Hey all,
It's been a while. Went on a DAC rampage over the last few weeks and ended up purchasing two.
For my main AV system, I replaced my aging (but still nice PS Audio DLIII with the Rega DAC. It's got about 60 hours on it and I'm finding it a significant upgrade to the DLIII. Better dynamics, fuller midrange and fabulous soundstage air and detail in the upper registers. The Rega was initial slated for my HeadFi system but when I put it in the main system, WOW!! A real nice upgrade. Just what the Vista's wanted.
That being said, I still wanted to upgrade my HeadFi system so I auditioned the Naim DAC-V1 (with a built in headphone amp). Again, WOW! Great synergy with the Sennheiser HD800 so I ordered it.
It's going to be hard splitting time between the two systems.. The Rega really breathed new life into the Vista's.
