So I recently have ATI 1803 amp (3 channels) running my pair of Theos and Motif X of my home theater.
Room is around 20’ x 20’ and 8’ ceiling.
Sound system includes a pair of Atlantic technology subs (powered 350w rms) and the rear surround speakers are powered by the marantz AVR.
ATI specs
180w @ 8 ohms (3 channels)
270w @ 4 ohms (3 channels)
I’m thinking about replacing it with 3 Emotiva HC-1 monoblocks
HC-1 specs
300w @ 8 ohms
600w @ 4 ohms
both amps are class A/B
This is purely for home theater usage, and not for listening to music
will going with 3 monoblocks be an upgrade of sound quality? Or I won’t really hear any difference?
in regards to headroom, I’m pretty sure that having the monoblocks will give me more compared to the ATI.
or I will barely get any benefits in loudness, sound quality, at all, and just save my money?
Thanks!
