But the difference is that I will readily admit that the watch works worse than a $100 department store brand. It is purely a luxury item that I enjoy for fit, finish, and exclusivity.

Make sure that your receiver doesn't have the sub level calibration set to like -12db. The low input signal could possibly be insufficient to keep the sub from going into a sleep mode. If your receiver does have it set very low, turn the volume knob down on your sub and either manually adjust...

It really depends on the room. The big advantage of an outboard sub is the ability to properly place and tune it. It is practically impossible to place the speakers in the right spot for balance, imaging, and bass.

2 channel works ok if you only ever intend to have 1 person in the room watching a movie.

I saw/heard some of their new stuff at AXPONA. I don't have any real world experience with it beyond that, but I liked the way that they looked and worked.
