    Room Acoustic Treatments

I tried RoomEQ the 'difficult' way-by dragging my desktop PC into the audio room (older laptop does not have a soundcard) but couldnt make progress with a floor full of wires and two little kiddies running around. Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a minimal laptop just for such stuff. Tj

    Room Acoustic Treatments

Nice information, Dan. For the room measurements were you referring to the recently discussed RoomEQ or something else? I've installed RoomEQ but havent gotten to the point of taking an actual measurement, yet. Tj

Krell website - FPB stuff gone?

It suprises me that Krell did not retain a few of the FPB stereo amps in the current lineup. They had a strong following among the two-channel solid state crowd and were slightly more affordable than a pair of their M counterparts. I've never been able to afford Krell new; all of my amps were...

DIY Open Baffle Mid Bass Line Array

Iwalker- Any improvements since your last post? It would be great to keep this thread going, at least from a reference standpoint, since this is a project that others might want to take on. Are the drivers you chose inherently 'dipolar' or specific to open baffle use? It was my...

Flowers and Bunnies (and my experience with Logans)

Somehow you're missing something. Could be the receiver (probably)....could be your source components (maybe), placement (always), general surroundings (apartment?), cables (yup, they make a difference also)....could be any number of things. What I would do (and I still do just for fun) is visit...

Black plastic bags OK for packaging?

Good point, and part of the reason I'm doing it now, while its fairly cool/dry in the basement. Thank you. T-

Black plastic bags OK for packaging?

Thank you. I should have asked that question before spending an entire Sunday packing things up...it wasnt until late last evening that I wondered if the bags were a good idea. T-

Black plastic bags OK for packaging?

I'm packing away some of my unused audio gear; we're doing alot of home remodeling and what isnt being used is going back into the boxes to keep it clean and safe. I picked up a roll of 55 gallon drum liners (thin black plastic like Hefty bags) to not only wrap the components themselves, but...

    What is your Speaker/Amplifier combination?

What are you using for a preamp, and how are your four Descents configured (crossover points and slope)? Do you find that the Summits need that much bass reinforcement? My setup is similiar; 5.4 running ReQuests in all four corners with a matching Descent (original, not i's). Preamp is CB3...

    Did you know...

I looked up my own house not too long ago and found the image to be about ten months old, judging by some work we had done on the property. Pretty cool, though. T-

    Remember happiness is... ?

Tom mentioned new owners 'discovering the magic of ESLs'....has anyone ever had a guest (perhaps a non-audio type) stare at the ESL panel in utter disbelief that sound emaniates from something you can see through? I find amusement in watching guests twist and contort with their ears up to the...

    Sunday Morning Music

This is a great thread--and great fodder for what to look for at the local music shop during the week. I cant wait till next Sunday. Although I've always considered myself 'well rounded' with regards to selection, I have never been disappointed listening to previously mentioned recordings in...

A new wrinkle on The Summit.

Does the wrinkle pose a problem if you push the speaker hard? The pair I looked at had no issue at low volume but since the fellow was driving them with a relatively small integrated amp I had nothing but his word that they preformed fine with more power. My thought was that the wrinkled area...
