I've seen this discussed many times but have yet to see anyone who has implemented an active cross over on the CLX. Personally I am using mono blocks most of the time (ARC Classic 150).

I have a pair of Descent I with the add-on CLX low pass filter module that helps to integrate the subs with the low frequency roll off of the CLX, No complaints from me. The newer BF c/w room correction (PBK) and also the low pass filter module. You will be just fine.

You can and should upgrade the capacitors in the crossover. I'm not sure which brand are in the Vistas but there were Solens in my CLX. The upgrade was well worth the effort especially if you can do the work yourself. See this thread...
