Ahhhhh, for dessert we have an evocative Bananas Foster Flambé with a decadent french vanilla creme gelato, crystalized caramel and aged Guatemalan rum
and yes... I'm a bit of a foodie as well... I'll pm you the menu from our most recent yearly "convergence" where myself and a dozen or so...
In the event you are not at least intrigued by Carlos, I just happen to have a medium rare ribeye chapeau with mushroom duxelle and cognac reduction sauce. Sides will include basil infused shallot mashed yukon gold potatoes and caramelized brussels sprouts with white truffle oil and coarse...
Yep... got me there. Silver Sulphide (tarnish) is actually conductive as well but only to a point wrt buildup. Rhodium is best but also more expensive most cases I think.
Go with silver-content solder GG... heck, I'd go with silver plated terminals as well if possible. Maximize continuity. :)
"Silver - The Cialis of connectivity" ;)
To elaborate on Adam's adroit assertion... SPDIF "embeds" the clock within the serial datastream. Therefore, the receiving device must regenerate the clock (usually by PLL based circuit). The receiving device then uses this reconstructed clock to sample each bit of the audio datastream. This...
He could go with the vintage horns... but I have to imagine the Cocaine speakers would be much more... I don't know... (wait for it)......... addictive. ;)
I alphabetize my classical collection by composer for the most part. For compilation or oddball discs, I've been grouping them by label (i.e AliaVox, Dorian, etc) and then alphabetical by title within the label groupings. Works for me.

BTW, I recently received this Faure disc and I'm blown away (figuratively). It is fantastic through and through. I don't care that it's not the same exact performance as the Youtube vid. Not only is the Cantique here wonderful, but the entire disc has given me a NEW APPRECIATION (Bernard) for...
Hi Rob... sorry I can't speak to the pros/cons of the speakers you're considering (having not heard them)... but just jumping in here to say "Welcome aboard" and I wish you a pleasant HT journey as you assemble your system.
Cheers
Bernard, et al... having just learned a neat trick whereby one can wrap an image within a URL link, I edited the above post to make the Bach Orchestral Transcriptions image "clickable" so it will take you to, in this case, the Amazon site.
Cheers
Bernard... in my seemingly endless attempts to find some Bach that might appeal to you, I just received this disc in the mail (pre-ordered it some time ago as it was just released today).
Some people may think "blasphemy" upon hearing re-orchestrated classics... I'm not one of those people...
Bernard - we stand in grave disagreement on this point. In my view, all women are exhibiting their posteriors 24/7/365... it's just the way things are. (sometimes to our delight, other times... well... 'nuff said ;))
Thank you Bernard for taking the time to post your show thoughts. Having never heard the MBLs (a shameful admission indeed) I'm now even more inclined to do so after having read your comments re: "hearing new things on familiar recordings".
As for the morons who stood between your seated...
Music for Mother's Day
Oh... and lest I forget, I just pre-ordered a few copies of this new Beegie Adair release from Amazon so I'll be "locked and loaded" for Mom's day on May 13th. (and no, locked and loaded doesn't mean locked out of the house because I'm too loaded to be allowed in...
