Harry, Welcome! I would say wait until you get the speakers and connect up the amps and see. It is more about current with the CLSiiZ and than wattage. Your amp should be able to handle a 2 ohm load but if you do not blast them you may be fine. Jeff:cool:

What is wrong with this forum???

Whats wrong -follow up to DTB's post What is funny is the people who objected to Dan's post may have issues. I have to agree. Some of the questions asked like, "what amp to buy", are not well thought out and may be genuinely naive and to be able to decipher this in a post is difficult. In...

    CJ Questions

I have several TOP albums-yes vinyl and CD's as well as having seen them many times or the last 30 years. Did I say that? I found that some of the recordings are generally thin and a lot of them are bass shy. I think it depended on the label and the engineer at that time. Some of the newer...

    CJ Questions

Doug, I guess I was too subtle.;) For argument sake, lets say a tube has a life span of 100 hours. Leaving it on will not "hurt" the tube at all. If you use it 5 hours a day the tube will last 20 days. If you leave it on constantly then in about 4.16 days. Usually preamp and/or control type...

    CJ Questions

Doug, Even though it is a hybrid the tubes will be on and if you can afford it you can leave it on. I believe there are four tubes in the Premier 14. This may or may not be expensive. It is your choice on this. I turn my tube stuff off when I am done and realize that when I turn it on it may...

    Martin Logan Purity vs Vista

kelvinz, Panel run about $900.00. For considering an amp you need something of quality which will provide enough current to drive them. The CLS is a harder load than the newer technology. Now you do not need tons of watts but an amp with the ability to drive a 2 ohm load on occasion. I would...

    CJ Questions

Just to add my 2cents to this. I have had several CJ preamps and amps. My current amp is the Premier 17LS2 which is the previous version of the CT5. It too has four 6922. I have heard both this and the CT5 and the difference to me was minimal. I agree with Cherian that the four tubes will...

Danger, Danger, here comes the CLS

Ben, I would not say that using the CLS in a HT is bad. I am using for 2 CH, MCH and for HT and I have not complaints. I think the sound is open and does a fine job. I am using a Depth for the low end with movies although my preference is 2 CH and then MCH. The 5 foot rule is not a dead-set...

    Best speaker cable for CLS?

"Now if we all lived in the big room where Jeff Z works" Oh you mean this little room ? http://www.audiojunkies.com/blog/503/the-worlds-largest-anechoic-chamber I think the sound would not be as good as we hope in here but it would be fun to try.:D Jeff:cool:

    what causes CLS sway?

The issue of sway is an interesting topic to say the least. I am not sure it can be classified as sway as much as it is vibration caused by the excitement of the panel. I am sure technically it can be called sway but my simple minded thought/definition is that sway would be more of an even...

Cable "Burn in"... Fact or Fiction?

Here are a couple links from Tara Labs. Yes they are a bit biased because Tara Labs does sell cables. They are well respected within the industry but their is some scientific information and testing they have done which will shed some light on this subject. Now with all of this, it still comes...

Heading to listen to the CLX in Seattle !

David, I can say that when I heard them the bass is immediate andin your face more than a woofer. I believe the difference is in the thecnology of the "reproducer". A speaker does give a wider dispersion and at times fills a room with a lot of sound, dispersion and added reflection. With the...

    another new guy needs advise

First of all welcome It is indeed a loaded question. I guess it depends on which model of CLS you get. The older models were harder to drive. The CLSii versions (A & Z) were easier to drive and did a bit better bass. The older versions did not have the spar arrangement as the newer versions...
