"Bi-amping" question... should I do it?

I think your amp is fine I was suggesting possibly a good stereo preamp might be a benefit.

"Bi-amping" question... should I do it?

I really don't have any experience using a processor in a stereo setup if you use a Y adapter you may lose something sound-wise in the cabling between pre and power I don't know. Power-wise I don't know how much you'll gain a 100 watts should be enough the way it is but having more sure can't...

    Buddy Guy in concert

I had a chance to see B.B. King and Buddy Guy in concert last week. I've seen B.B. several times before he's 84 and slowing down a bit but still is worth the price of admission. Then there's Buddy Guy he is nothing short of a magician with a guitar and he is funny as heck to boot quite the...

"Bi-amping" question... should I do it?

How big of an amp do you have? What preamp?

I would think there is a pretty high percentage of the original Logans out there still.

    SL3 Panels replaced

The question is can they be reconditioned?

I'm sure ML is monitoring this forum they haven't said anything to calm the fears of them possibly discontinuing the panels.

I suggest a group order of panels

Or maybe Martin Logan can set up order dates possibly biannually to order panels. This way they can manufacture the Panels in such a way they can defray setup costs, inventory costs and it will not interfere with their work flow thus making it more profitable to keep manufacturing them.

    SL3 Panels replaced

You best take good care of those new panels they may be the last you'll be able to buy if ML decides to quit making them.

I suggest a group order of panels

I'm just saying if you we're buying the panels for future use what good will it do to have a spare set of panels if you can't have the rest of the speaker serviced if need be. They said they would not support the older models I'm assuming that means the whole speaker not just panel replacement.

I suggest a group order of panels

If they are not going to sell the panels anymore what makes you think they'll service any other part of the speaker in the future.

If they don't support their older products it will be the begining of the end for Martin Logan.

Support/Panels for older models may discontinue eventually.

Justin if you're out there can you elaborate on this statement? When, why, which models?

At what point will your speakers be deemed older?

Their customer support is one of the things that separate ML from other companies. The panels are a consumable I would expect as long as there is a Martin Logan they should make panels for every model they have ever made how else are you going to support your customer. Saying they will...

Also I may add who will want to buy a several thousand dollar speaker if they don't have some reasonable guarantee that it will not become obsolete a few years down the line.

This is of special concern to me as I own both CLSIIzs and Sequel IIs without a source of new panels they will be doomed for the dumpster eventually and that would be a shame. Is this going to be a new program of planned obsolescence?

    Depth i vs Descent

Since its for HT I'd think bigger would be better.

You never know but a more likely scenario would be one or more of the skilled craftsmen have ideas and dreams of their own on how to make a great speaker. The difference is now they have the motivation, they need a way to make a living at what they know. I can imagine many a company has started...
