    Focus

It might have to wait for the new theater, I found a great deal on audiogon that I couldn’t pass up. I was just going to test the speaker to confirm function but I loved the sound so much I didn’t want to put it away. Now I have to figure out if putting new holes in the wall for three months...

    Focus

Wow, what a beast in size and sound. I have it under the motif and not mounted yet. It sounds like I have another full sized panel speaker for a center channel. The width and clarity of the soundstage is a night and day diffence. What an upgrade.

33 now. Just picked up the focus center channel (excited) and working on a pair of 11a (even more excited).

Sonos Connect Amp and ML Bookshelf

I have been impressed with the Sonos equipment. We have a couple of 2nd gen play 5s in bedrooms and a sonos amp going to outdoor ML-65AW and another to some nice monitor audio bookshelf speakers. I think the functionally and dependability after the initial setup has been fantastic. Sound...

    System #538 (Renaissance ESL 15A)

I agree 100% with the addition of room treatments, and IMO that would be the place to start before other changes. I had the same complaints before my DIY panel project and there exsists many cheap options you can trial before larger room treatment investments. Many people purchase insulation...

I forgot to mention I live in Waukesha, appreciate a good scotch, and love dedicated listening in amazing systems :)

Did you update your “sweet spot” with the projector change / removal of the CRT?

Any pics of the sub build? I am really enjoying re-reading your theater progression and thread on placement/panels/etc. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    System #535 (Classic ESL 9)

Thanks. The new theater will be open to a bar area in the back and will have about 1000 sq feet, about 700 of that in theater “zone”. I will likely need two ported subs, maybe “hide” the PB-2000s in the front corners, to check as many boxes as possible (effect, SAF, sound quality). What do...

High likelyhood I will be going. I have always read about it but would be my first time.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon SACD with a nice Wisconsin craft beer. Still one of the best 45ish minutes you can spend. Saw Roger Waters a few months ago, still an entertaining show.

Sealed over ported? Our theater will likely be 50/50 split between dedicated listening and family movie nights.

Currently have SVS PB12-NSD in ML system. I am thinking about dual subs in the new build, something along the lines of what you have. How do you like them / have you had other setups / would you buy them again? Thanks.

    SLM vs Vignette

Thanks Tom, changes are being made to the living room set up and theater (and limited budget for all from other half). So the price point of holding on to the vignettes vs SLM vs SLM XL is my big question. Since 70% of our entertainment will be consumed on the TV based system, I am leaning...

    System #503 (CLX Art)

Love this thread. My obsession started when I interviewed for a home theater installation job with Shawn at Davinci media about 15 years ago! His old demo room was a converted attic space that blew me away. I was able to have considerable chair time with all his amazing equipment. Great guy...

    Inexpensive turn table

Since the problem/questions he was asking wasn’t making sense, I went over there to check it out. He had a turntable setup but it was “quiet”, plugged directly into his receiver. So I think a pre amp might solve the problem :)

Now they have an OSCE/skills section in addition to traditional oral boards (mock show me how you would do a nerve block / central line on a live actor). Surprising it cost more now too ;) Enjoy the time off!
