Considering JL Audio Fathom Subs: Any suggestions

In my room when I switched from Summits to CLXs the decent subs were pressed for room. The switch to the f110 was more of a space thing. They were slightly faster, but the descents went deeper. I also liked the ARO circuitry. But the Gotham is another story...

    Mono Block Opinions

Personally, I'd look for a used CJ Premier 350. One of the best amps I've ever heard with ML.

a pair of F112's is still pretty outstanding!

Considering JL Audio Fathom Subs: Any suggestions

Seriously, with correct placement, you can get away with one Gotham. Two is always better, but I've been able to integrate a single one without issue.

    Portland

I can't remember who said it in an article i read the other day, but the fellow being interviewed said, people don't want to be green as much as they want to buy cool "green stuff" to tell their friends about. Makes me wonder sometimes!

    Portland

It's really more simple than that. We have a city full of tree huggers that want a city, but they don't want to really run it like a city, they kind of want it to run like a fifedom. They want to have all kinds of social programs, which in theory is a great idea, but yet they don't collect...

    Portland

Agreed Gordon. And that's why I've worked at home (essentially) for the last 15 years. The time we've saved in addition to car wear and tear and gas consumed has been tremendous. When the day comes that I retire (hopefully another 8-10 years in the future) we are thinking of moving into the...

Which subwoofer with ML Vantage or Magnepan 1.7

That's why I liked the F110, really fast and easy to integrate with panels. It's a nice match with the Magnepans....

    Portland

Fortunately, being self employed, I don't have to drive in peak hours. That's a big part of it! Honestly, I love Portland, but in my opinion the tree huggers have gone too far. I appreciate anyone that uses alternative transportation, etc etc, but there are times that you just need to get in...

Which subwoofer with ML Vantage or Magnepan 1.7

They blend perfectly. Honestly, the Gotham has blended perfectly with everything from tiny mini monitors all the way up to the CLX's. I've been blown away by how high up that big woofer can play without getting muddy or cloudy. It is a fantastic piece of gear. Very expensive, but worth it.

Which subwoofer with ML Vantage or Magnepan 1.7

I'm thinking about it! For now the Gotham is turned off. Reviewing the GamuT S-9's which go down to 17hz, so I don't need it at the moment. One of my reviewers, Jacob Helibrunn has two though! With magnepan 20.1's. pretty awesome system!

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

Don't be passive aggressive. If you wan't to complain about me personally, just do it. I won't whine that your being libelous.

Which subwoofer with ML Vantage or Magnepan 1.7

If you'd like a great deal on a mint F110, PM me... I still have one left. I've used the F110 with my 1.6's with excellent results and have heard the 110 at my dealer with the 1.7s excellent combination. I used to use a pair of F110's with my CLX's but upgraded to a Gotham earlier this year...

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

You've been grumping and speculating about ML for the last three months with no evidence of anything. If that's what drives your purchase, so be it. If you like the Sanders speakers better buy them. That's why there's about 1500 different speakers to buy, everyone likes something different...

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

Have to agree with you Gordon, having owned 1+1's and 2+2's. They were both definitely "1 person speakers"... But they were great for their day. The original Acoustat 2 was the speaker that got me excited about Electrostats and trading in my Magnepans!

    Jim Power is RETIRING!

Has anyone received a definitive statement from ML as to what panels they will continue to make going forward? That might be a good thing to actually pressure them for. Then, you would know how to proceed.

She is the marketing half of the company. Does that sound better? All of the sales whatevers from every company make the same kind of claims. I don't have any axe to grind with Sanders, however I do think it's a valid point as to just how long of a lifespan this product really has. There are...

Sanders Sound 10c's receive HP's Golden Ear Awards 2010

But to play devil's advocate, how valid really is a "lifetime" warranty from such a small company? How old is Roger? How many employees do you have and what's the financial guarantee that you'll be around in ten years to replace these panels, should they fail? A certain amount of electronics...

    Jim Power is RETIRING!

But what you are missing is that the speaker mfg. is going to Paradigm. At least this is a company with some expertise.
