BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

I thought you could set up a convolver for your player (e.g. Jriver) or for the PC, so everything played through it will go through the same filter. If you used an Aurender you probably will have to convolve each file separately

BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

It works well in immersive. Not sure if 2-ch was the correct application

BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

Two of us were at Keith's recently listening to the Cessaro Liszt, room corrected by Illusonic processor. We could turn it on and off to AB. Both of us found the sound not natural with the correction on. That said, I have had positive experiences with Datasat and with Marty's TacT. It all...

BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

I am a big fan of immersive. Not a fan of K2 or the 66000, heard them many times with different amps, SS and valves. Want to listen to the vintage JBLs.

Is this for their JBL K2 series, or for the JBL 66000 type of models

BIG news from ML coming out of 2016 CES...

This is awesome, Gary, plus the idea of going immersive. I think one more way to up your system, though expensive, is to replace your centre channel with one Neolith. If too expensive, to replace it with a Renaissance.

    Turntables with CLX

Hi, how many here who have a TT with the CLX? And what's your TT set up?

Summit X with the Devialet 400 amp

Good if you want one box convenience. If you want sonics and have the budget go for separates.

    Roberto's client and friend

Roberto another friend of yours, Roch from Costa Rica, turned up on WBF and he too has the Big 7 and the CLX. You need to get him some mooks under that Lampi though.

the pros/cons, ins & outs of ML electrostats? (Theos and Ethos) - please help

I listen exclusively to classical on hifi. I like Stats. I was at a Bruckner 9 (Daniel Harding LSO concert today and listening to Cecilia Bartoli Gordon Gray moved from the Summits to MBL 116f. I auditioned the MBL extensively and didn't like them as much as stats because of the tonality...

    Lampizated DAC Kit

Hi sorry mate, no idea. All his ideas from before high VFM and his DIY blog was followed by many DIY people before he went commercial at Level 3 dac. So whatever kit you would have got will give you sufficient value but below level 3, will be my guess

Theos versus more expensive ML's like Montis or Summit X

I never heard the Theos, but general principle with an ML is, if they are new they might sound bright till a few 100 hours. Also depends on what amps you are using and how your room is. So you need to put more information about the rest of your system and room size, is your room live?

    Turntables

I would take the exasound over AN, used both. Lukas now has an option, people get to choose between R2R and amanero usb board that is off a higher standard to the previous board Justin and I had. I know two who had they GG upgraded to R2R and reported a massive jump, and I compared with one of...

    Turntables

There is an option to get R2R or improved amanero board for PCM. His dsd is unique and chip less. I heard the R2R, much cleaner and focused than mine, but the improved amanero supposedly as good. I have heard the AN dac 5 but not compared. I have not liked any of their speakers at all, and you...

    Turntables

As much as I tried to resist it as another mindless endeavor, I can't resist TTs. I melt every time a violin or brass or baritone vocals are played on a TT. Given that I have no TT s/w, it will be mindless to invest too much in the s/w except for favorite 100 or so classical LPs. But of course...

    PS Audio Directstream

Funnily enough, people are getting different results on Lampi, with more negative than positive, results change depending on what transport is used. with other dacs it seems to make a positive difference. Moral of the story? Don't mess with the Lampi, it's superb For example, from Mike Lavigne...
