Summit X and the 24bit Vojtko DSP crossover

Noticed the Montis and Ethos have this technology that blends the woofer with panel better. However the Summit X seems not to have this technology. Does the Summit X with its two woofers not need this tech? Or does this mean another new Summit or replacement speaker? The older Spires were oh so...

    audio advisor

Again, the Xs are the 7th top selling item AA. That's a lot of Summits leaving out the door at full retail and a win win for ML. I would not be surprised to see Cruthfield next. They seem to be following Thiel's lead. There will always be brick and motor stores around but you cannot stay in...

7th top seller according to their site, not a bad marketing decision in those terms.

    Ne Plus Ultra listening...

Actually, the house is registered as a historic landmark so no changes unless done as original. Casey once stated he would have to hire some guys out of the northeast just to run extra outlets since the walls are plaster. Buts its a beautiful location.

CLX vs SummitX vs Magico V3 - anyone?

System synergy is so important, especially in high end audio. Look at how ML debuted the CLX with McIntosh gear. MLs have that walk through sound, and McIntosh is not the last word in transparent equipment. Maybe ML knew too much of a good thing (transparency) sounds neat for the five minutes...

    Ne Plus Ultra listening...

Casey, who owns the place is a cool guy,and yes the store on 7th street on a tree covered hill has a neat ambiance to it.

I just bought a Bose System!

True story, a high end store in the Boston area, some time ago sold to Bose R&D Quad electrostatics. I believe it was 8 of them. And yes, from talking to a few folks at Bose they are some serious audiophiles up there who are engineers (nice personal home systems),but the company they work for...

    Two new ESL's at CES?

Or why not take the 44 inch xstat panel and double it. One behind the other, just like the bass panels on the CLX. Then one would have a speaker with the extra bass from two panels with the width of a single xstat panel. Place it on a nice base and voila, a mini CLX that more wife friendly.

There is a post on Avguide.com that Krell has been sold to private equity firm (what profit did they see in Krell?) and that D Agastino has been let go...........Shocking if true.

CLX vs SummitX vs Magico V3 - anyone?

Tonepub-When can we expect a full review on the YGs? I have talked to the engineer Yoav personally, he is a cool guy. Spectral- Do you find this a possible limiting factor having to only use MIT cables? Do you use the top of the line MIT cable or Spectral brand MIT cable?

    C-J Premier 350 amp!

    Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2009

Did anyone hear the near Vandy 7s? I don't see a pic of them. How was there sound?

    Naim on ML

I remember the Washington DC ML dealer always teamed up Naim with the MLs though the Naims had a low watt count the dealer said it had the current to run and it did.

What is the Most Profitable Audio Company in the World?

Robin, how do they sound with regular music through them? I heard these in Guitar Center stores and outside in front of a Bose store. Their 2 1/2 inch drives falls off around 16K, but it had the same warm midrange that many audiophiles like.

    Austin City Limits

Listen to Iron and wine's song Trapeze on some Martins........its spooky. While ACL does not have a copy of this song's performance on their website here is a copy of the song on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnGXduu293c&feature=related

    Summit X

Why wouldn't it be desirable at higher frequencies? It would allow for a lower crossover point. And it should be the same over all panel size that you are speculating.
  19. L

    Summit X

Or just save some R&D and make the Stat a full range dual force panel. You will have a smaller foot print and similar look to the outgoing Summit using the same tooling.

    Summit X

I wasn't suggesting a separate bass panel as the CLX instead a double panel. Imagine a Summit today with two panels, one behind the other, the frame would be a little thicker but you would be hard press to tell the difference. It would allow a lower crossover and more seamless presentation. With...
