stuwee is a new owner of Summit's

Craig, congrats on your Summit's purchase. They are indeed a fine sounding speaker. That is a large room so you should be able to play with the set up to achieve great sound. I acquired my first audiophile system in 1974 when I purchased a pair of Pioneer CS-99 speakers, a Marantz 2270 receiver...

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

The room is 17 feet wide and 25 feet deep followed by 13 feet wide and 18 feet deep. Thus the right hand side runs 43 feet and the left side runs 25 feet. The portion beyond the 17x25 section (ie 13 by 18) is a dedicated single malt scotch bar. This is where I combine my favorite two hobbies as...

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

@ Justin: When I first talked to Mike Ware from LMC, he asked me if I was going to bi-amp the Neoliths. I assumed he meant passive bi-amp and I told him no as I am not much of a fan for passive bi-amping. On the other hand active bi-amping where you eliminate the internal crossovers and use and...

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

Hmmm. I have stories. Back on subject I received an email from Mike Ware saying he would soon have an updated timeline on the Neolith's. Gary

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

Oh yes the scientific method. I will certain apply as much science as I can until it starts to get in the way of fun. I am by education a Nuclear Chemist and Mathematician. I have, however, been suffering from Audiophilia Nervousa for 40 years. I have some good equipment that helps do better...

Just pulled the trigger on an Oppo 105D.

Tom, congrats. I have the 105D and like it very much. However, I'm not using it for hi res unless its DVD-A, SACD or blu ray. I have my 105D connected to an 84 inch 4K LG. Even though the OPPO is not 4K it still provides a great picture. I am certain you will love it. Gary

Neolith Purchase Order Has Been Placed

My purchase order for the Neoliths has been placed. Rosso Fuoco (Ferrari Red) was the color choice. These have been purchased through Mike Ware at "LMC Home Entertainment" in Scottsdale, AZ. Check out their website http://www.lmche.com/ and you will see some of our favorite brands. Mike knows...

    Neotlith review from Audioholics.com...very interesting!

The Neolith received many positive comments from the press at the 2015 CES. Here are some comments from Larry Greenhill of Stereophile: http://www.stereophile.com/content/martinlogan%E2%80%99s-neolith In 2001 Greenhill wrote a review of ML's Prodigy's. His review prompted me to check them out...

    ML at 2015 CES

Dave, During CES there are no $200 a night rooms. I had a friend booked into the 4 Queens downtown (old and dingy) and it was $500. Yes, ML was on the 30th floor of the Venetian which is where they usually show. The big boys such as TAD, Lamm, MBL are in large suites on the 34th and 35th...

    ML at 2015 CES

Can't say. However, I was told progeny "are" coming. And it sounded like the first salvo would arrive within a year. I didn't press for details. Gary

    Neotlith review from Audioholics.com...very interesting!

I forget the exact weight but I know it was between 300 and 400 pounds each. I think they were something like 380 lbs. Their shipping weight is somewhere in the 700 pound range each as they bulked the up the crates after the Munich high end show. It turns out the Munich boxes did not hold up...

Meridian Quality Audio - a major development announced

I was given a great demo of MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) in the Meridian room at CES. I became a believer. I am a Meridian user having the 861 v6 processor. My processor just happens to be in Atlanta at this time being fitted with the required ID41 Sooloos card to go with the Control 15...

    Neotlith review from Audioholics.com...very interesting!

In Theta's room at CES they had an Auro 3D multichannel system with 21 speakers. The audio demonstration was fantastic. I sat in the sweet spot, directly under the VOG (Voice of God) speaker. Just spectacular. The pipe organ would be interesting. When you make it to Vegas I'll play Toccata and...

    Neotlith review from Audioholics.com...very interesting!

Roberto, for sure that was a positive review. These beasts really do eat power. They used 575 watt per channel Krell's at CES and they seemed fine. The only time that I noticed any difficulty was when they played a Bach fugue (long sustained deep bass organ notes). They gave it 5 out of 5 in...

    Motion 60XL ?

AJ, Congrats on a good sound system. The Bryston 4B-SST is one of the best values available. I have both the 4B-SST and the 4B-SST^2 in my main system. I have compared these back to back using the CLX speakers and cannot hear the difference. IMHO no need to upgrade. The JL Audio e112 sub is...

OK! Esoteric K1 is the winner. ==• now we need to move to the speaker!!!!!}{[]>

These Tad CE1's have the beryllium tweeters and magnesium midrange with a response of 34 Hz to 100 kHz. And yes $24,000 does seem like a lot for a speaker that I might describe as a bookshelf speaker.

OK! Esoteric K1 is the winner. ==• now we need to move to the speaker!!!!!}{[]>

At CES 2015 Andrew Jones was featuring the latest in the Evolution series. Price point is $24,000 without stands and $26,500 with stands. I spent 45 minutes here and first impression would say they are pretty good. Highs better than B&W 800 Diamond. Lows similar to Diamonds but not quite as much...

    ML at 2015 CES

The ML team seemed genuinely excited as they presented their latest child to the CES audience. They took pride as they showed the various points of build quality. They had been given a reasonable checkbook to experiment with and they brought in new materials and high quality components and it...
