    ElectroMotion ESL vs. Aeon I

If I remember correctly ML recommended turning off the NAC for pure music listening, and using it for background music to fill the room. It probably affects the accuracy and measurements which is why not all ML speakers have it. In the picture below it is the oval near the top rear of the...

    ElectroMotion ESL vs. Aeon I

FYI it's Aeon i, not Aerius. The tweeter which ML calls "Natural Ambience Compensation" or NAC is at the back of the speaker box near the top. It can be turned on or off and sort of fills the sound in the room. I've attached the Aeon i service manual which shows how to replace the panel.

    ElectroMotion ESL vs. Aeon I

The ESL was launched in 2011 (see Martin Logan ElectroMotion XStat Electrostatic Loudspeaker First Look). They have nearly the same specs according to ML website, but the ESL has 2dB higher sensitivity so should be slightly easier to drive. The Aeon i (which I have a pair as my surrounds) has a...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

My favorite as well! Check out Sweetback also, it's basically Sade (the band) without Sade (the singer).

Is the mobile Audyssey Multi EQ app worthwhile?

Yes for one thing it allows you to disable midrange compensation. And you can choose from two different curves or customize it. Plus you can see the measurements and result with filters applied which is extremely helpful. I’ve measured before and after using REW and the graphs shown in the app...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Yes that's what I did. In the screenshot you see all tracks are selected (grey). Anyway that's ok, thanks for the suggestions.

What amp to use with ML Source speakers

Congrats on your new purchases! I also have the new Cinema 50 AVR and like it a lot. It's great for movies. Only your two front speakers (Source) should require more power than what an AVR can provide. I would suggest you try adding a 2-channel amplifier just for the fronts, with 200W+ per...

    Prodigy transformer specs

The connector appears to be an Alden Pulse-lok. Looking at their website it seems like they make medical connectors. This particular connector is somewhat customized for ML, at least with a logo. ML says they are no longer available nor made. The front and back of the connector in the speaker...

Hmmm when I Ctrl-A to select all and right click this is the menu I see (using Spotify Windows app):

    Prodigy transformer specs

I swapped my electronics cabinets between the 2 speakers and the problem still stayed with the speaker, so I've now ruled out the panels and electronics. The only other possibility is the panel connector itself according to ML. Here's an email from ML (although we were discussing a clicking...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Sorry there's no option to print or export the playlist. I suggest you sign up for a free trial. Edit: I found a tool that converts Spotify playlists to YouTube, pretty cool check out my playlist on YouTube (some files were not found): Of course, YouTube quality is not great.

If you have Spotify you can add my playlist to your library on your computer, then play it via Spotify on your system.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Here's my audiophile Spotify playlist. It is chock full of songs that show off a good system. Of course, it's on Spotify so they are not lossless or high-def. Many of the songs are Shazam'd from audiophile system demos from YouTube etc. If you have a good subwoofer or speakers that go deep...

    MOTION bookshelves vs panels

I have a pair of Motion 4 as my computer desktop speakers. For the size they sound very good. Good highs and mids but they don't go very low obviously. I use my old Descent sub with it.

Room Acoustics - Absorption Panels Behind ML's

This looks interesting. 59 inches (1.5m) tall and quite affordable. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/eilif-screen-freestanding-gray-40466935/

    Custom ESL using quest panels

Thanks for the suggestion. I asked Ron yesterday and got a quick reply today. He didn't provide the specs directly but gave me these two schematics. Maybe someone can decipher it?

    Prodigy transformer specs

I actually have 3 PS boards. One from the "good" speaker, one from the problem speaker, and a spare I bought new from ML 4 years back. All 3 of them show the same problem when placed in the problem speaker so that is unlikely to be the issue.

    Prodigy transformer specs

I have swapped power supply boards and the problem remained with the speaker so for me it is not the PS board.

    Prodigy transformer specs

Cool, nice to have those documents. Do you know the bias voltage for the Prodigy? Is one of your Prodigy speakers having the same problem ie. the panel has much lower volume than the other? One of mine is 6-12dB lower than the other (starts above 250Hz which is the crossover point for the panel).
