Above about 600Hz your SPL is about 10dB down (65dB vs 75dB) so the panels are likely degraded. Room correction can fix it by boosting the level by 10dB then reducing frequencies below around 500Hz. It will be a lot more demanding on your amp.

Get the driver recoiled. I had one of the drivers on my Descent recoiled for less than $100. Any speaker repair place should be able to do it.

The time duration varies greatly. It can be 6-20 years. But it should be very clear - when your speaker starts to sound muffled and missing treble, that's when you need to replace the panels or consider washing them.

This company in Germany Hifi-Zenit - Martin Logan offers to rebuild ML panels for pretty good prices. Anyone used them before? They quoted $1290 euros to rebuild a pair of Summit panels.
