    Martin Logan rear speakers

It comes down to simple geometry. If the room allows for all the seats being covered by the limited dispersion of 30º (and this is being generous as there is falloff near the edge of the beam), then it'll work.

    ML News tease

Well, it ain't a soundbar, not with woofers that large! Just saw another tease. It's definitely a subwoofer. Maybe a multi-driver array? Two, three, four drivers? The tease only shows a driver and the bottom area of the cabinet, and the driver surround doesn't look like it would be something...

    Mic for ARC Genesis

One note about cables and microphones. The cable cannot be very long, but depends on the mic involved. 15 feet is the longest I've been able to make work, and the cables I bought from Deercreek Audio were confirmed to work with UMIK mics, so I bought with confidence and confirm that they work...

How do the newer ML speakers deal with panel slippage,

I think the frame around the stat panel completely captures the panel on all four sides. So the bottom part of the frame is really just like the top where the panel is concerned. There's even a rubber gasket all around the panel.

How do you listen to your speakers

@JonFo that is great advice! Thank you very much!

How do you listen to your speakers

@JonFo I'd love it if you could recommend one disc with piano that can show off a system, whichever you think is the best one. I've looked for some on Qobuz, but there's so much to wade through, and after your excellent dissertation I would trust whatever you'd recommend.

How do you listen to your speakers

I'm listening to some nice long albums right now! My system is in a multipurpose room, which has compromises everywhere you look, but it sounds ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! So my system is used everyday, for everything. But for old tv shows and the like I just use All Stereo mode and keep the LCR...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Cool! I use this as a regular for checking out pumped up bass that isn't audible on laptop speakers. The lowest bass note is 25Hz. Pete Belasco: Deeper This is an RTA of both songs at the same system volume level. Queen Mary has the bass over +5dB hotter!

    Changes in Tidal streaming service

Frankly, knowing that they're ditching MQA might bring me back to Tidal! I'm using Qobuz now and like it very much. Some things about Tidal I liked better, except for MQA which I don't like, so I might try it out again.

Vantage Bass Boom in small room, options?

@malcesine since you now know the most problematic frequency, you can reduce it using DSP and/or PEQ. Also, consider this simple test without a sub, but needs a preamp with a crossover setting. I'm not clear on what you're using as a preamp, but if it has crossover settings, then set it at its...

    Room acoustics visualized

This is the best Acoustics demonstration series I know of. It has lots of practical demonstrations with some of the most valuable being the video showing differences between using delay vs level vs physical location (I don't recall which video it is, but it explains why my right speaker is...

Sound is Lefty, whatever I try... :(:(:(:(

Pull the weaker speaker farther from the front wall, a little at a time. My right speaker is 4-1/2" farther from the front wall than the left speaker. Mirror image setups are not necessarily equal. This bears repeating in this situation. The video posted below is how I learned to get the best...

Adding an 'Odyssey Khartago' Power Amp

Firstly, if you haven't yet purchased the miniDSP Flex, wait. I've heard from reliable sources that they are coming out with a device that will be Dirac DLBC/ART compatible. It was supposed to be launched this month, but with each passing day it's not looking good for an April launch. The most...

    Spikes vs. Gaia Isolation Feet

I'm also a fan of GAIA footers! Got a demo of them at AXPONA 2019, bought 'em at the show with the expectation of returning them, tried 'em, loved what they did, kept 'em! Frankly, I would have kept them just for the looks and ease of moving the speakers. Mine are on 69 year old hardwood...

    Amp question Ss or tube?

Well, if one has a question, it will always be a question until one can find an answer or forget the question. I loved using my Bob Latino M-125 tube monos with my 13A speakers for two years plus. Soundstage was absolutely real and fabulous!! But, I missed the sparkle I got with solid state due...

    Amp question Ss or tube?

I have never heard a Sanders amp, but I've never heard anyone say they were disappointed with one and wanted to get rid of it. I think this is a very good endorsement for Sanders amps!

    Room Size ? Esl 15a

I would've done the same thing and take the great deal now if I knew I'd be moving into a larger space. It could be a bit tight, but I think it's doable. Room construction plays a part in this in addition to the size.

Making Vantage Sealed Box (Port Plug) Question

When I had Vista speakers, I too was concerned with damaging the woofer if I plugged the port. But ML said it wouldn't damage anything, just would change the bass character. I stuffed a sock in each port and lived on very happily with the improved transition to the subwoofer. The bass tightened...

    Bass Advice

If the "anti-sub" doesn't quite fit the range of problem frequencies - maybe the sub covers too wide of a frequency range, you can make a PEQ filter with a miniDSP. It's trial and error, but can work. This way you can tailor the width of the filtering you'd like to have. But it would help us to...
