Experiment with rake (lean) before you start trying to raise them.

I have about 20yrs of different toes here played with a few, I wont mind gambling with height as long as its not too expensive

I raised my summits by about 4 inches (maple slab)... I very much liked the effect. Bass seemed tighter and of course the vert dispersion was improved while standing... and I kept it that way until the day I sold them.

Oh, and rake was essentially 90 degrees
