Wanted some opinions from the forum. How close or far away from each other are the Vista, Clarity and Source. From what I have seen the Clarity and Source are about the same price on the used market and the Vistas are about double the used price of the Clarity and Source new. Is the double price worth it or is the Clarity and Source a better buy. And as far as the Clarity and Source go how close are they to each other in performance?

I own the Clarity's and they're pretty good. I have also had the chance to audition the Source and Vista.

First, the Source. From a sound perspective, I do beleive that it is a more dynamic and revelaing speaker and ahead of the Clarity (but not by much). So, if it's Clarity and Source, I wold do the Source. I do like the build of the Clarity better and do have a hard time with the veneer on the Soruce, but the end result is that it is better sounding.

Now the Vista.. I beleive that the Vista is a good leap forward from the Clarity or Source. It would be my hands down choice if you have good amplification. The Vista or used Vantage is to be my personal next move in speakers.

Hope this helps!

The better speaker makes sense if you already have good components, otherwise it is (almost) a waste of money. Work on your weakest link (including the room) before going for Vistas. If you have the equipment, the more expensive speaker will be that much better.

Thanks, I pulled the trigger on a set of Sources this evening, so I guess it is too late to evaluate. If the glove fits you must acquit.

I am putting together a second system for 5.1 surround sound. Unfortunately the wife got tired of me playing the 7.2 system with surround music, so I got a complete 5.1 system for downstairs. The Sources were for the back channels. I am using Adcom 5503 for the F,C,R, and a Yamaha Class A amp for the two back all running thorugh a McCormack MAP-1 pre-amp with a McCormack UDP-1 player and Pioneer Elite 79AVI and a Technica turntable because you can run it throught the MAP-1 and get surround sound out of Vinyl. My plan is to wait for the CLX and then figure a way to sneak them down to the basement without the Wife knowing.:music:
