We have our demos on the floor now. They have not had alot of breakin, but I am very impressed. I dont think there is a better speaker at this price point. They look great in the Bubinga finish as well!

Dont like the color!

It's not to my taste either. I think people who like traditional furniture and architecture go goo-goo for wild wood patterns. People who like modern or contemporary want a minimalist or straight wood grain veneers such as black or maple. I think it's a way for Martin Logan to make a very contemporary looking speaker and make it acceptable for people with a more traditional looking home.

Is the Spire the replacement for the Summit?

Whether you like the finish or not it is of the highest quality they are not skimping. The Spire is not the Summit replacement it fits in between the Vantage and Summit. Yes those are Revel Salon 2's in the background.

DaVinci,

Veneer looks aside, how does it sound?

How does it compare to the Summit since you have owned both?

What does it do better/ worse than the Revel?

I have not listened to the Summit side by side with the Spire and the spires have only been set up for a few days so I am hesitant to make a comparison between the 2 yet. I will say they are very similar though. When compared to the Revels (which cost almost 3 times more) the MLs have a better image and sound stage, but the Revels have better low end, are more accurate, and sound a bit smoother. We will see what burn in time will do to close the gaps.

Accurate in what way?

When I say accurate I mean the Salon2's are more realistic. At this point they are the best speakers I have heard at reproducting music/sound. I am awaiting our pair of CLX's though. From what I have heard they should be as good if not better than the Salon2s.
