Hi everyone I would appreciate your experience and advice on getting the best from my new combination. For many years I have enjoyed my Sequel II's
and have recently picked up a series 1 Sunfire signature series two channel power amp that I would like to run with these speakers.
I am currently using QED silver aniversary Bi-Wire cable which I will retain.
My question to you all is, I know with these sunfire amps there are different ways of connecting the speakers depending on what output posts you choose to use. What have others with this speaker/amp combination found to be the best?
I know my ears will rule at the end of the day but just curious to see what everyone else has done?
Thanks in advance, Ford427.

It was a toss up, but at the end of the day the current source ended up winning out. The sound from the panels in the range that mattered most was too good to pass up for better woofer performance. That is why I have the Sunfire Cinema Grand and bi-amp using the current source up top and the voltage source on the woofers, both sources have + / -.

Thanks.....

I was thinking of trying the current source for the panels and the voltage source for the woofers via the bi-wire cable:

The Sunfire allows for several different methods of hook-up. The normal operation is to use the voltage source output, which is the standard amplifier output. The current source output is recommended for electrostatic speakers. You can also use a combination of the two by wiring your low frequency drivers with the voltage source, and midrange and treble drivers with the current source. I tried both of these configurations and will elaborate more on them in a moment. There is also the parallel mono option where you use a Y-connector with one preamplifier output plugged into one leg of the Y-connector. The other two legs of the Y are connected to the two amplifier inputs. One channel output goes to the woofer, and the other channel feeds the midrange/tweeter. Of course, you need two Signature amplifiers for this. There is no bridging option

Just a matter of experimentation I guess.
Thanks, Ford427.

I had the Sunfire sig II ..the current sound is almost too thick on the panels but the voltage was:music:...one of the best "tube like" non tube amps around...rumor had it that 2 well reviewed very $$$ speaker manufacturers used the Sunfires when voicing their speaker designs for more powerful tube amps?!

Sunfire 2 channel amps....

Can anyone familiar with Sunfire signature 2 channel amplifiers tell me what the differences are between the series 1 and series 2 amplifiers

I have the series 2 cinema Sig... I believe the specs were the same - except the 2 has about 25 watts/ channel more... Mine is rated at 425 X 5 as opposed to the 400 X 5 on the series 1... Thought I read something - like ... they moved the power supply?? a bit farther away from something else - and got a gain in power.... I know that is vague ... but.... maybe that gives you an idea of the diff...
