Hey guys, long shot in the dark here, but I figured I throw this out there....

A couple weeks ago I decided to sell my system (a painful decision) in order to fund my new corporation that I was starting. Well to make a long story short, I ended up selling them on craiglist and being written bogus check. Yes yes I should have known, better, etc. but I don't want to beat myself up anymore that I already am. Just in case you hear of a deal, or stumble across these on the net, it would really help with any info you might see, here are the details.

The scammers were a 6'2"-6'4" caucasian male, 165-175lbs, spikey hair, very fair complexion. Used the name/alias Mike Bitler. Check was a business check from 3GWireless out of Springfield Mall, Va. His female companion was a short, light-skinned african american woman, but she didn't speak and I didn't catch her 'name'. The equipment stolen was:

Martin Logan Depth i Subwoofer (dark cherry top)
Martin Logan Montage pair (black)
Martin Logan Mosaics (pair)
Martin Logan Fresco (single)
Sony KDS55A2020

Any information you have that I could pass on to the police would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sad event

What about posting the ser. no. of the units ?

That could make it more easy to spot your gear if on sale ;)

Yes, post serial numbers.

Also, not sure if MartinLogan have any database or can note your serial numbers in case they come in for service at any stage.

Good luck and sorry to hear.

Aww man.... dude.. that sucks big ones. I hope you find the perps. I'm not in VA so I can't even keep an eye out for these guys.

I really really hope you find the perps with the help of the local authorities. :(:(

When I sold my Rotel 1090 amp and 1070 preamp, the couple didn't have enough cash to pay for it outright. I told them I didn't accept checks because I had to wait until it cleared. The lady worked at Walgreens as a pharmacist and "assured" me that she had enough money, just not with her tonight.

The guy really really wanted my preamp and amp combo and begged.

I said... "alright.."

Bad move. The check was deposited, but it BOUNCED! My account went negative and I was charged the nominal "negative fee". I called the lady fuming.

LUCKILY, she came by that night and gave me cash + $100.
