I don't want to start a debate on weather SACD is a better format than other formats out there or the fact that you need a special player to play them, But if you love SACD's attached is a link for a petition to save the format.

However much I love SACD (more because of the higher resolution required in recording thus producing higher quality recordings), I don't much care about the format per se. The blocked digital stream effectively prevents wide dissemination, especially at the dawn of computer-based and computer-driven audio. If I had made this realization slightly before when I actually did it, I wouldn't have bought my CDP (a CD/SACD player) but would have chosen the EMM Labs DAC that upsamples all the way up to SACD bitrates and would have driven it from my Squeezebox 3 (or Transporter).

Agreed.

I think we're beyond where SACD is a salvageable format.

Even DVD-A is questionable, although it aligns better with industry standards.

I believe we will see a shift to HD-DVD or BR for our High-Def audio.

Personally, I don't care what medium they put it on, just deliver the damn content in high-rez already.
