I'm packing up the Vantage today. I've enjoyed them and learned a lot about ML and how to set up and position them.

The knowledge gained will help with the new speakers. I ordered a pair of Spires about 2 weeks ago and they came in today. Bought them on not so blind faith. I could not find a pair to listen to, but based on the Vantage and the entire ML reputation our decision was easy to make.

So there are 2 large boxes in the living room waiting to go back tomorrow morning. I really wanted to do it today but I have to go to work. Unfortunately, I can't take a sick day today.

Did you tape your floor, so you can start with the Sprires where your Vantages were? I've noticed in my room that all three speakers had their sweet spot within a few inches of each other...

Congrats ! I think the Spires will rock.

I love BLUE tape.:D

get ready

those speakers will mellow you out they are so smoooooooth

It's Saturday morning and the Vantages are loaded in the truck. Going to leave in about 1 hour.

I'm lucky I have a rough drawing on the positioning. I had put the blue tape down and went to work at 2 yesterday. My wonderful wife thought it would be a good time to deep clean the wood floor. So, you know there is no tape on the floor when I got home from work last night. So, in my best complimentary voice I said the floor looked great!

Happy listening Gordon. And don't you worry about the tape at the floor. You will remaind easy where they were, and because you have new beasts, just begin from the fisrt step. You might like it better. Remember, at least 3 feet away from their's back wall, and the distance between them should be equal or less than your listening position. Tilt them a little bit more to their back (as they are from the factory)...in other words, one turn of their feet more at front than the back (their feet) and listen first solo or combo music...piano, guitar, vocal, will do best, happy listening again, trust your ears,
Roberto.

Gordon, congrats on the new Spires!

I sure look forward to your impressions of them.
