Well my roommate headed back to NJ for the weekend. I had the day off on Friday and after I ran some errands, washed the car, and went grocery shopping I decided to pop in Transformers and crank the volume.

No surround sound, no subwoofer, no special processing - just the Aerius i.

Even those these speakers 7+ years old, they still rock. Watching those action sequences, especially the fight scene on the highway (the one where the decepticon 'roller blades' through the bus) was just awesome.

Who ever said ML speakers don't kick some butt for HT? I don't know why, but the small sweetspot isn't a problem when watching movies. I suppose that is because the volume is turned up and most are more interested in the rumble of the movie vs accurate playback.

I normally don't get to watch many movies because my roommate is always around an/or I work long hours and it is hard to find the time during the week. But last night was a real treat.

OK, now I have a question that has been bugging me for a long time.

When I want to watch a movie with my speakers, I hook up my Panasonic DVD player to the ARC pre-amp. I use the Aux or Video output on the pre-amp. For some reason, there is this really loud, annoying hum. I am guessing it is a ground loop issue (?) When I just have my reference CD player hooked up the pre-amp (Panasonic not hooked up at all), there is no hum at all. I tried switching cables and that didn't fix it.

Any ideas?

Erik

Toss the roommate, hookup the ref CDP and the hum will be fixed.

Do you have hum when you pull the antenna cable for the TV out ?

I'll have to try this. I also saw the Roberto had a thread on ground loop issues. I may need to get a cheater plug.

Thanks!

Erik
