No it does not cost a fortune. It's not gold plated. It has no audiophile pedigree.
It just does what it suppose to. It claims it will protect your equipment from a lightning strike. If your equipment is damaged they will replace it. Even if you lost the receipt.
It's the Isotel surge protector. It has 4 to 6 jacks and a telephone line.
More over it costs between $60 -80. It's built like the proverbial brick outhouse. You can jump up and down on it.
If you don't like, it you can return it.
No it does not claim to improve the sound of your system. But each receptacle is isolated.
Now that's a bargain.

I've had the Isobar Ultra 4 for several years, very similar to the isotel.
I have my CDP, Phono preamp, and turntable plugged into it.
