Hello! New member here!


Just got my first pair of electrostatic ever! Martin Logan Ascent I. .

I am driving them with a Marantz PM6005... it's not idea but it does the job for now.

I am using a MacBookAir through optical to the DAC of the PM6005. Playing mainly FLAC.

Wire are apature accusound from the USA.

Welcome to the group, next we need you to work on proper speaker positioning !

You are defenetly right, they are positioned the way you see because the WAF of this speaker is basically 0 and I had to accept the place my wife wanted them...

Sad, given their position and with that chair the way it is I give them 3 months (at best) before they are damaged. perhaps you bring them out 1-2 meters for serious listening ?

ok, that's one step but they are still too close to the wall, di-poles need to breath, even more-so !

I will position them properly during the weekend! You know what the shock of hearing ES speakers for the first time in my life is probably the biggest effect I am feeling now

I would hate having a spouse that didn't support my hi-fi hobby... so glad my husband is OK with all of this.
