Yes - I think we discussed this some time ago. Very sad - they were a great company and great speakers. As you say, hopefully the technology will continue in one form or another.

Makes one wonder, with the shrinking "high-end" market, who's next to throw in the towel. Is there really a large enough worldwide ESL market for ML, Sanders, Quad, Soundlab, Janszen, etc to all survive??

Personally, I think ML is best positioned long term, with both their Design and ESL lines, by recruiting entry-level customers into the fold.

I agree with your ascertation about ML - it is something of a worry though - considering our speakers contain "consumable" parts (the panels).

That said - even if they did fold, I think the install base of ML speakers is large enough for someone to continue production of at least the consumable parts. Quality might not be the same though!

I think there's no shadow of a doubt about that - much like it is still possible to get Apogees re-ribboned years after their demise.

If ML fold, though, I'll be amazed. That said, the better models are very expensive these days... especially over here.

PartTimeJedi....I quite agree. Indeed Final had a great product by all accounts - innovative and distinctly different solution to ML and the others. Cannot understand how this could have happened as I would have expected many years of successful trading. No business could legislate for recent events but it annoys the hell out me that respectable manufacturing industry goes down the tubes while the Banks continue to self award even while on "life support"......
