I am looking into getting the new Electromotion speakers. I already own a stereoamplifier og "highendish" quality and it costs around 2000 bucks. Is that kind of an amp wasted on the EMs?

I have read that you can drive them "perfectly" with a normal receiver. That means my pricey amp will not make any audible difference?

I think that your pricey amp will allow these speakers to truly shine! I have a Yamaha RX-A2000 and they work well with this mid range amp. But I do wonder if a better amp would bring out more - my budget says I have to wait to find out!

Hola. ML now is offering prducts that can be drive easy with "budget or normal" amplifiers, receivers, separate, etc. Just keep in mind this: They will show you the quality of the components that you are using at the system's chain. Any link of this chain starting from cables will show their quality (quality does not means expensive). Your new ML is a precision tool. Treat them as they are, better quality goods, better quality sound. So now you are with us in the same boat!... and the search never ends!...Happy listening,
Roberto.

I'm confident (assuming the rest of your system is up to it) that you will hear the benefits of a better / high current amp.

Which amp do you own?

GG

Ok, thank you for your answers. I think I will postpone any purchase of MLs - I currently have another pair of speakers that are pretty good on their own.

I will audition EMs when time is ripe. :)
