Hey all,

I have about 100 DVDs. I need a compact way of storing them. My first pick is the DVD Power Tower from Sharper Image which holds 80 DVDs, but costs $149. No where else can i find a similar power tower. Here is the link: http://www.sharperimage.com/us/en/catalog/product/sku__SI797TNM I am thinking of buying 2 of them.

Anyone else have another solution to their DVD collections?? (Hopefully, your alternative solution will be cheaper too!):)

Oh yeah, i don't have that much space in my theater room...thus, big shelves or bookcases are out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

Ikea has a tall/narrow unit called Benno? I think that holds about 88 DVD's. I bought mine for $19.99 dollars in green. Other, nice finishes are more.

Thai,

I could never find anything on the market that I like or fit my purpose/space. So I had my storage custom made. Greatest advantage is minimum wastage of space available. And if you are good with woodworking, your only cost is the few pieces of planking (for shelves) and a piece of 1/8" ply (for backing).

My collection approaches 700 titles and counting.

I had a similar problem with the piling up of CD's and DVD's plus the fact that on occasion a CD or DVD would get scratched. It didn't help either when the wrong CD's went back in different cases. My solution was to get a Mega Changer and store 400 CD/DVD's in a single unit hence photo CD's and home videos could be viewed instantly without hunting for them. This works for the whole family. Problem is that it costs more than a simple shelf.
