doylestown, oh
I have followed the recomendations of Martin Logan to put the subs behind each speaker (summits). do you feel that this is ideal? since my room is only 11' wide the subs almost end up in the corner. I am thinking of moving them out and putting them between the Summits I think i might get a better more tight bass out of them. right now they seem a little boomy in the corner. any suggestions are welcome thanks

I would just move them around and try a bunch of different locations. You're going to have different peaks and nulls and each location.

I have 2 depth i's as well. My room is only 1 foot wider than yours. Each depth i is on the outside of the speaker, with the front of the sub pointing into the listening position. The rear of the sub is even with the front of my Odyssey's. Level is at 6, 25 hz at 0, phase at 0 at blended in at 35hz. The bass is not boomy at all.I would definately get them out of the corners.

I also have ASC tube traps 16x78 tall which helps matters out. I still have to take pictures with the depth i's in them. I have only had them since August. On a side note, I really like the way they inhance the music.

Assuming a symmetrical room, the best location (flattest response) should be wall midpoints on two, opposing walls (slide 75). If that's impossible or impractical, try Geddes' approach. Even with "only" two subs, the results should be darned good.

My room is 12ft wide and i have my Spires 3 feet from the side wall and 2.5 feet from the front wall. My two subs (Sunfire HRS12) straddle both ends of my long wall 20ft wall. Make sure the subs are alighned in phase with each other (if you have two or more of them) and with the mains around the crossover region.
