I just got a depth sub and have a few questions. Can I have low pass filter set at 35 with my ML Oddessey's? The manual really doesn't give a good explanation of the phase switch, what it actually does in lay mans terms.

I had the sub in the back corner , but didn't like it there. I tried between the speakers but found I had to have the level control up quite a bit, since the sub is 5ft off the back wall. I will try a side wall placement 1/3 down the wall today. How far off the wall would you place the sub? Any comments would be welcome.

Thanks Greg

Place your sub right where you sit and listen. Get on your hands and knees and crawl(Sub woofer Crawl) around the room and listen for the best bass response . When you find it take the sub and do a 180* flip from the listening position to the area with the best bass. Corners tend to load the lower registers a bit more. It doesn't mean its the best bass just maybe the loudest. The phase is critical too. Think of it as a speed control. Try many settings, each room will have different gains and speed. If you can try and put the sub in a rear corner with the phase set at 90*. You will have to adjust the volume. I have mine like this and its as seamless as I have ever heard.
