You know, I frequent the audiogon systems pages and I always see this amp there. It's ubiquitous with ultra-high-end setups. What is with this amp? I do not, for one second, doubt its greatness at amplifying the speaker, but what did this amp do or how did this amp get such recognition. I never even heard of dartzeel until Mike Lavigne on audiogon got his and he traded in his Tenor monoblocks for just a single dArtzeel.

Also, all the big honchos on audiogon also have another ubiquitously great source, the EMM Meitner CDSA! These 2 pieces are quite intriguing to me...

Just wanted to throw this out the MLO community and get some feedback from those who thought the same, heard them, or just as I do... want them.

If the Meitner is so great, why are so many for sale on Audiogon? Especially for $14k or is it a $15k setup???

I have a friend with a Vacuum State Modified Sony 777ES and he has heard the Meitner and was not that impressed. Especially considering the Meitner costs over 4-5 times what he paid for the 777ES plus modifications. A comparison of these two players in the same system is being arranged.

The CDSA is barren on the audiogon used market. All I see are CDSD and the DACs (DCC2 and 6). The reason for this is that a lot of the EMM owners on 'gon have upgraded to the single unit CDSA and are getting rid of the separates CDSD (transport) and DCC2 (DAC).

Look forward to the comparo though.

The DartZeel amps are just "right" from the HiFi News review I read. It's warm, has awesome sound staging and has all of the right details. Not to mention how fabulous the inside of that thing looks!

Gosh.... everytime I look back in this thread, the Dartzeels just take my breath away.

Alright, must not let gf read that line.... .
