I wonder how good the class D amp is in the Purity loudspeaker. It's not that my NAD T-785 receiver has perfect sound but it is easy and non-fatiguing to listen to. I'd love to replace my speakers with MLs but fear the only choice I would have would be the Purity, with it's built in amp. Unfortunately the only things I've heard about class D amps are not good. Can anybody speak to the wisdom/folly of driving a pair of Spires or Vantages with an NAD T-785? I suspect I am limited to the Puritys because of impedance issues....and I have no idea how far down the scale they may be from the Vantages. I heard Muti's version of Aida on those and nearly had a religious experience!

I am driving my Vantages via my receiver (denon 4306). My Vantages sound great...with no signs of stress from my receiver at high volumes. I think that the powered woofer helps relieve some stress on my receiver...as opposed to Vista.

You NAD looks like a superior receiver to my Denon...so, i doubt that you will disappointed with the Vantages.

Hola. Purity is intented for Ipod or computer music. You don't need an amplifier to drive them. In a point of view, you have some money in your pocket, due to this great feature. Also, it is the first hibrid electrostatic dynamic speaker of the world. The digital amp built inside has being optimized by the team of ML. To my ears, I do like what I listen through, very clean and powerfull sound, with the ML magic sound, and also I think it is a very good woman product. Just put your Ipod and you are done. Just the play and no more knobs to move...just your Ipod volume control. The amplifier is a B&O OEM. Happy listening,
Roberto.
