I am new at MLO. I own a pair of cls II since 20 years and got new panels from ML a year ago.

Now I got a high voltage amplifier from innoxx (Germany) and can directly drive the panels bypassing the ML-electronics. I can try different bias voltages for the diaphragm. As a starting point it would be good to know the bias voltage ML-electronics provide for the cls II (from 1990).

Can somone help?

Another question: I know that the red cable (connection) runs from the diaphragm to the electronics. Which one comes from the front/back stator - the black / the blue?

Hola. Usually the voltage is about 3K, the black is for the back plate stator and the blue is for the front plate stator. I do not know if you are going to do something good, because at the electronics, there is a tone shape circuit designed by the factory for the performance of the stat panel. The coil and the capacitors are for this purpose. Happy listening!

Hi Roberto,

Thanks for responding. I know abot the frequency shaping electronics of ML. The supplieer of the high-voltage amplifiers provides several options of high and low frequency filtering, so that I am confident to find a suitable level of bias voltage and frequency curve.
