Hiya's,
what's a good center channel to match with my ML Summits? I don't see anything on the ML web site that suggests a match. anybody every use other brand center with these, like non-els speaker?

system: ML Summit
Pass Labs x250
Pass Labs X-1
Cary 306/200

The Stage

The stage is going to be your closest match. If I owned the Summits that would be the way I would go.

I'm using the Motif, smaller form factor than the Stage, but it also works well.

I'll second that. I have the Stage working with Summits and it is a very fine center speaker. I've also heard Sleepysurf's Summit Motif combination and it is pretty good too.

What's nice about the Motif is that is very compact. However the stand for the Motif isn't made to mount on a wall but the speaker is small and light enough to be placed on shelf that's mounted on a wall.

The Stage is very close in size and shape to the Cinema center.

I use the stage as well it works great with my spires and vantages before that. never do I have a feeling it could be better

Center Channel for Summits

I bought the Stage after I had Summits for a while and went into a home theater set up. I did not compare with Theater or Cinema (Motif) was not available. It seems to match well in voicing with the Summits. One consideration is that amplifier matching (if one is not using a multichannel amplifier or receiver). I am using the Pass X350.5 for my Summits and the Pass X3 (nla) for the Stage and Spires (rear speakers). At most listening levels the midrange (critical for speaker matching) is seamless. Hope this helps.

well, even tho there is only 6 responses, the Stage has the votes. Now to see if I can find a used one. I am using a HK AVR 500 5.1 processor (85watts) for the Home Theatre surround sound. It will power the center and rears but my Pass Labs amp will power the fronts.
Thanks for the info guys.

Lets make it 7. I used the Stage with my Vantage. Worked well. Now I have the Summits, and the Stage works well with those also. McIntosh 402 for the summits, McIntosh 205 for the Stage, and Motif surrounds.
