So, I just finished installing my 7.1 system it consists of the following:

(2) ESL
(4) EFX
(1) Stage-X
(1) Def Tech Reference Sub
(1) Denon X3700H
I currently have a set of Vanquish im not using. So I eye balled the angle and seems to work. That is, until I looked at the opposite side of the room and realized 3 walls have a slant and 1 doesn't. So it moves the placement of the left speakers pretty about 1-2 feet from the listening position instead of 4-6 feet and being above the side surrounds.

So I am at a loss of what to do. I am shooting for a 7.2.6 eventually. The current receiver can handle 4 ceiling.

For the front and rear I was possibly thinking using the Axis speakers and mount them to the angled wall. I have 0 clue for the middle speakers.

Any help with location and what type of speakers to use would be appreciated that would give me the best results

Most important is to get vertical angles and positioning right - if you put your speakers at angled part of the walls and have this space between ear level and height speakers, you will be good. Those holes with cables are too low. I would not worry thar much about vertical positioning, this is much more forgivable.

Take any console and aim speakers at MLP and it will be OK. Anything half decent with 6,5 in woofer will be enough

re top mids - there is small incremental benefit in going from 7.x.4 to 7.x.6 configuration in normal sized room, so I would not loose any sleep about it, if you place 4 speakers properly you will get 90% of performance.

I have 9.8.7 config myself with Center Height but those additional 3 height speakers are just vanity.
