Hello
Does anyone have any experience using these two together?
The Canary Ca-339 Monoblocks are a 300b tube amp rated at 50wpc. Which is powerful for a 300b amp.
Thanks

ChefPaul,
Nice system!! I gotta ask the obvious... What is it that you found lacking with your current Canary 160 that you're looking to address with the 339? I must say, I am quite envious whenever somebody (you) have the luxury to burn (in the most literal sense) through a set of 8 300B bottles to power the speakers  Must be nice.

The 160's are awesome, but in my opinion the 300b tube sounds the best then the EL34, unfortunately most companies make SET amps that are lower power and/or cannot drive difficult loads or inefficient speakers. Im looking for more of and airy and more dynamic sound. As for the cost of running 8 300bs lets say I need to keep close friends with someone associated with the newly remanufactured Western Electric's coming out in a couple of months.

The 300b definitely has much more tone than the EL34. Compared to the 300b, the EL34, even in triode mode, sounds anemic and thin. The 300b has more "flesh on the bones" sort-of-speak. So, definitely more tone, lush and airy for the 300b. I'm not so sure about dynamic, especially driving the panels, just because I've never heard this combination.
