No, not that discussion. Are there any ways to hide the mess cables make behind the rack, and to make it look cleaner? Any smart covers anyone has designed?
 
If you want the best "sounding" arrangement, the spaghetti pattern is best.

How to hide is another issue.

This is rather off-topic but:
For longer cable runs the best plan is to bundle.
Bundle all the analog interconnects together.
Bundle all the digital interconnects together.
Bundle all the speaker cables together.
Bundle all the AC power cables together.
With the exception of the AC power cables, you only need a few inches between bundles.
 
So what's the practice for AC power cables? Should they be kept separately from other cables?
 
With the AC power cable bundle, a separation of maybe 12 to 24 inches from the other cables should be OK. All the different bundles from area A to area B should follow the same general path. To much separation and you create a ground loop.
