I currently have SUmmit X speakers that are driven by Parasound JC1 monoblocks. I am considering the pros/cons of upgrading the monoblocks. I have read several opinions that certain Pass Labs monoblocks really bring out the best of the Summit Xs.

Any insights regarding Pass Labs or other monoblocks would be much appreciated.

To begin with there is 'no' best, rather many superb offerings out there..............with that being said, you presently have one of the best already in your system.

Myself (others would agree I'm sure), I'd like to know more about the rest of your system including room and acoustic treatments for I'd wager large sums of money that YOUR money could more wisely be spent in those areas than 'changing' out an already great pair of monoblocks !

For a very neutral and detailed sound with tons of control and headroom, I heartily recommend Sanders Sound ESL monoblocs, which I am currently using on my Summits. For a more warm and involving sound, I highly recommend the Pass labs mono blocs, either the X .5 Series or the XA Series. I think a pair of XA-600 monoblocs would be to die for on the Summit X.
