I was just on the Martin Logan Website and they now have the SPIRE listed, plus a new little fella called the PREFACE! This one uses the ATF driver. Looks kinda nice and only $1495 a pair. Check it out...

Its not a dipolar speaker?? What they hey, now? Its all well and good that the Preface has better bass response, but c'mon... whats the point of a ML full range speaker if there is NO dipole radiation? As tempted as I am by a fuller range, I wouldn't trade up the imaging from my Montages.

Being conservative I must say I dont find that nice at all. Maybe it has "advantages" in comparison with electrostatics when we talk waf and setup, and maybe it is an attempt to make people buy it so they can say they have MartinLogan, but I dont buy it, sorry.
