Just got back from a little 'putt' down to Annapolis this weekend with my brother in-law and two other friends. Bikes ran great, weather was good and the tour of the "Yard" was superb !

This now (finally) makes all three Academy tours complete, they are all grand and wonderfull in their own right. We were fortunate to have a great tour guide, a seventy three year old gal with so much 'spring in her step' that she had us all marching in perfect cadance by the end !

First pic is of the bikes parked @ The Stadium, where we then took the shuttle bus. Next up is the 'posse' on the steps of Bancroft Hall. The largest Dormetory in the world, houses four thousand Mid Shipmen and has almost 5 miles of hallways within ! Interior shot inside next.

A pic of the tomb of John Paul Johns, man only lived 45 years but he was our first Naval war hero.

Last is a shot of us stopping over for lunch on the way home on Sunday @ 'The Union', a great biker hang out along the Susquehanna River outside of Port Deposit, Md.

All in all a superb weekend, yep despite all the strife...political and economic, it feels good to be an American !

Way to Go! Glad for your neat weekend, and the info. I will have to do the "three tours" you mentioned, as they sound quite interesting.

And I especially agree with your last comment, "despite all the strife...political and economic, it feels good to be an American !"

Could not agree with you more!

Awe I'm a little hurt, Dave. I live all of 13 seconds from the USNA!

Gulp........sorry Erik, I had no clue you were that close.

Damn, we had a real good happy hour @ 'Dock Street' Sat nite, after a couple of Stella's to wash the road dust off, then a couple of Bombay Saphires tuned us up for some great Crab Cakes !

Next time I will be sure to call in advance, after leaving town we realized we had forgotten to check out the WW II Memorial, so a calling card awaits our return !
