Hello All, I found a pair of Aerius's I will be purchasing in about 2 weeks, and I need a little amp advice. Right now, I have a Harman/Kardon DPR 2005. (DPR = Digital Path Receiver). The receiver is rated @ 120 w/ch. It is not like HK's regular "heavy" recievers. It is relatively light, apparently because the sound stays in a digital state all the way to the output. Would this be enough to push the Aerius's with, or will I burn it up? If I do need to get a seperate amp, do you think a pair of the Marantz MA-500 THX monoblock amps would work? They are rated @ 125 w/ch. I heard some of them pushing some Def Tech BP2000's about 10 years ago, and sounded awesome on those. I found a pair for $325. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I have a pair of Rotel RMB-100 (100 watt) mono blocks that I used with my Aerius i's and they were very nice. I now use them with a pair of Vistas' and they still sound nice. Without having heard either your receiver or the Marantz amps, I would bet that the Marantz would do a much better job than the amps in the receiver.

Those monoblocks should be adequate.

I don't think the receiver alone could do the job.

Awesome! I'll go ahead and pick those up. Thanks for the help!

Cant comment on the Aerius, but I ran reQuests with MA500's for a few years with good results. The Marantz amps were a good value for the money.
