Hi,

I am searching for the power consumption data of Aerius/Aerius i loudspeakes (including Aerius i standby power consumption), but I cannot find these data.

May someone please help me?

Thank you.

Best regards.

Luca

I don't know the exact spec, but I believe it to be in the order of about 5 watts - whether the speaker is supplying bias or in standby.

Thank you very much for you answers!

But if the power consumption does not change, why is standby useful?

Thank you.

Luca

This is a very important feature. When the electrostatic panels are charged, they attract dust, debris, and these dust can cause malfunction or unwanted funny noises. Another reason why you should vacuum the panels at least once a month. Happy listening,
Roberto.

Because it prolongs their life by stopping the electrostatic attraction of dust and pollutants.

You should still aim to keep the panels in a clean and dust and smoke-free environment, but it does help.

So, what is the difference for the panel between the standby and unplugging the loudspeakers?

Thank you.

This is a feature that ML though well. After some time of no music at the binding posts, the sensing circuit shuts off the high voltage section that activates the electrostatic charge for full operation. Must of us, are just users, and we keep forgetting to leave unplugged the system and the speakers power cord from mains A.C. when we are not at the house. Leaving unplugged the power cord from the wall, it is the best way to protect them from any power surge. The panels will support the surge, but the power supply will not. But, usually there is no power surges, or problems with the main A.C., so the feature built in allow us to be protected of the debris and dust free. Remember that we, as ML user, should at least once a month, vacuum the stat panels, even that we have this feature. It is wise to do it. Happy listening,
Roberto.
